A box with a purpose was created to solve a problem in our house. Looking at a power strip when you walk in the bedroom door is not my idea of decor. The power strip could also get stuck under the wheels of the bed. Beside any costly phones tablets on the floor the getting crushed.
I painted the box the same color of the trim on the bed. Drilled a hole in the box large enough to fit the power strip. Let it dry and then slid the strip through the box and plugged it into the wall. The plug is also hard to reach since the bed is close to the wall. This solves the dreaded squeezing your arm down the side of the bed to get to the electrical plug when you are already tired.
Looking at this box it adds a nice touch to the space. The best part is this thrift store find fits my purpose.

Great idea to hide those eye sores!!
Such a great idea! I hate seeing cords so this is a pretty solution. Visiting from Thrift Store Challenge.
That is so awesome! What a great and simple way to hide that cord :)
A clever idea for a common problem. We may need to borrow your idea at our house for the same reason.
This is a wonderful idea to hide an ugly power cord. I am always moving stuff to hide them. Now it looks so pretty and keeps things handy.
What a great solution to hiding a not-so-pretty power strip.
What a true "re-purpose" project! You saved a really cute box from the landfill and found a genius use for it!

This is such a great way to hide the cord & much easier than reaching behind the bed! Love it!
What a clever idea to hide those ugly cords! I need one for my office!

Great idea. I made something kind of similar for last month's upcycle challenge the hides our router box and internet cords.
