About Me

About Me

I have been making projects since I was about seven. My Grandma taught me to sew Barbie clothes on her White sewing machine. My Mom taught me counted cross stitch. She was a Do-It-Herself lady before it was cool. She painted a Mural on the wall of our living room when I was a baby that is still there. My Dad helped me by hand drilling the doors in our house together, to fit the original antique doorknobs. As you can see I inherited this passion from a long line of DIY Family.

I call myself a retired stay at home mom. I have married the love of my life (Prince Charming) years of raising our sons A & N and building a home together have allowed me to live my childhood dream. Marry my prince and becoming a mom.
We bought our home in 1986 when I was expecting out first son(A). It was built in around 1940, had two previous owners and is located where we grew up. This charming Cape Cod style home was not perfect. Yet I stood right in that bathroom (very well rounded) declaring this is the house to PC. Buy it for me! This home has a "White Picket Fence", hence the name.
Once wasn't enough we did purchase a dream house again at the end of 2011. This time, we bought a year round lake home giving it the name Dragonfly! It is the "Dragonfly Pad" on the blog. This cottage was built in Eighteen Hundreds. I've been told the living room and sunroom are original to the house but, this cottage has transformed and flipped into this century before we bought the home.
I have been lucky to have been surrounded by people who taught me DIY. You will see our adventures of homeownership, learn with us as we nail our split personality home styles in two homes and add details to make our houses our homes. Now I am excited to share what is bound to keep happening remodel, repair, and build.
Together with your feedback we can identify challenges to solve in our spaces. In life, we need to continue to create inspiring spaces and transforming our homes as we evolve. My plan is to challenge myself, learning new techniques, skills, DIY, Crafting, and Home Decor.
