Love Love Love  Burlap Art

Darlings we are marching into the Create with Cricut Challenge. It's Burlap month! You may have noticed I have love on my mind this year. Since we are planning two weddings with in ten months of each other you may actually consider calling me a wedding planner. HaHa! The inspiration for my burlap art is a combination of two of my thoughts colliding. First I have the song, ๐ŸŽAll You Need is Love, ๐ŸŽ by The Beatles humming in my head. Second matte gold is N & J accent metal color for their wedding. I apologize ahead for the song now being stuck in your head or the matte gold buying spree.

Today we are focusing on something we rarely do for ourselves. Self Care! How about Darlings? I know that is the last thing on my list most days. Truth be told when raising babies many of us were lucky to get a shower in by days end. Gross! It is real life. A group of bloggers are giving you Awesome ideas how to create Self Care made with Cricut projects. Jessica of the DIBY Club has gathered together a group of wildly creative souls. She is contributing the first link below this post with a pattern for pajama suit The Gabriella. I for one Love a lounging PJ Day,  These  projects would be great gifts or given to yourself too. I suggest two for me one for you idea. ๐Ÿ’–After all we are promoting Self Care!!
Well gone are the days of babies crying at our house. Wedding number 2 Here We Come. We have two sons, but I never thought our family would be planning a second wedding in a year.
Taking the first son A & A wedding into account my take away from the beautiful day we added our first daughter to our family it is a blink of beauty, emotions and making sure the day was perfect for our kids and guests. For our
N & J wedding this Summer I thought a gift for her mother would be nice. Keeping your things organized along with the many parts of the moving puzzle of a wedding while looking graceful, calm and put together is no small feat.

Darlins so much is going on around here at Dragonfly & Lily Pads lately. Be sure to read all the way to the end of this post to pop on over to my three friends who rounded up more than 40 bloggers to post a project using felt with a Cricut machine. This project is perfect to make for gifts, decor, party decorations, teacher gifts, even the kids could do this. OMG! Felt St. Paddy's Day Pin

My Cousin from Ireland sent me pictures along with a video about St. Paddy's Day. She lives in the town my great-grandfather was born in before emigrating to New York during his adult life. St. Patrick's Day is a National Holiday in Ireland. It is a day the whole town goes to church, has a parade and of course has a pint or two. I am grateful she shared traditions held in our family half way across the world.  Featured on the lapel of jacket and coats is a boutonniere of shamrock.

Christmas Gift Cards

Christmas Gift Cards

Sometimes when presented with a challenge happy accidents create a better product than the original idea or shall I say three. This design will make a gift card holder, tag, and note. Funny thing is I started out making thank you cards but, my mind went blank as to cutting out the letters in the card. UGH! Of course when I completed the 3 cards in one project I remembered the way to cut a shape plus text at one time. If I added the thank you it would narrow the use of the card. This card can absolutely be used as a thank you note hence it should be the 4 in 1 card project. :)

Measure around the candle to determine the size wrap you need for your candle. Mine was 9.58' adding enough to slightly overlap completing the design. Then chose the height that is pleasing to your eye.

There are several holidays where stars are an appropriate decoration. Do you love interchanging decor items around the house? I ๐Ÿ’“to swap decor from rooms to different houses.

Weld the stars together by dragging your cursor across a horizontal line of stars with the tips of the the stars overlapping. When the stars are framed by a blue box hit the weld button with your cursor. Whala!
Follow the steps on your computer screen to complete your cuts making sure to chose the Glitter Card stock. Place your material on your cricut mat carefully matching the edge to the lines on the mat. Place the mat on the Cricut then press the arrow to guide the mat in to the machine. Now that your ready wait for the start button to flash as well as your computer screen will prompt you.

If you look closely you can see the stars are cut out and ready to be reverse weeded. Reverse weeded means you take the waste off first.

Be gentle as you remove the stars from the cutting mat. The DIY holiday candle wrap is delicate between the stars. Gently wrap the band of stars around the candle securing with removable adhesive.

My small vignette of diy holiday candle wraps now grace my coffee table in the sun room. I am not ready to decorate for Christmas yet since I will be hosting six family members for a fun Thanksgiving visit. I am grateful my sister and brother in law host our Thanksgiving meals for the family.

I hope you love this quick project as much as I enjoyed creating this tutorial. If you ๐Ÿ’“it Pin It!

Showers of Love for Baby Dove

Friday, June 6, 2014

Last year we celebrated with the lovely pair of Doves as they married. Fast Forward one year and we are Showering Baby Boy Dove, who is on his way. My BFF, her Daughter-in- Law, Mamma Doves  sister,  I were off to the races with finding ways to decorate, games, and gifts. Pinterest was a great resource but, I did not find the items. That is the only reason I did not attach the appropriate credit. I helped with the +Silhouette America Cameo making some of the decorations. This was one of the most coordinated, detailed baby showers I have been involved in to this date.
