Today is themed furniture makeover day. Darlings the inspiration is chocolate and on the menu is a Fannie Mae mint meltaways. There will be craving over this months DIY Furniture Girls posts. These makeovers are so sweet they will make your teeth hurt.
Our Papa always brought Fannie Mae candy to every family gathering. This chocolate challenge was a nice way to honor him in our home. The family favorite has always been mint meltaways. They seem to disappear before dinner most parties. Who else thinks the mint green chocolate taste different than the brown? Notice no brown on this tray of mouthwatering morsels.
The color of the paint matched the candy spot on with the stain it certainly reminds me of the chocolate covered mint candy.
The clock Nana & Papa gave to us on our engagement. This family crest which still hangs in one of the castles Ireland is from a magical trip searching for family history and participating in a beautiful wedding celebration.

Off course, the best way to match the colors just right is to have a vision board? Tasting testing is a hard job but, someone has to do it. As you can see the inspiration was delicious.
The nightstand was found at Goodwill for $6.99. Score!!!! This is the drawer with Jacobean Minwax stain left over from another project.
While the drawer was propped on the floor to unscrew the pulls a happy accident occurred. The two parts that were holding the handle on and the pull came apart on the floor. Check off the drawer pulls because this sweet nightstand has a home which happens to be with the Boys Dresser to Nautical Nod. In case you missed it I included the link. Just click on the title. There was left over handles and now those pieces will serve perfectly to tie the rope.
This final picture of the chocolate inspired makeover shows how the theory of decorating with the layers of your life works. As stated before the clock was from our engagement, then the code of arms and the book of Tipperary, Cahir, Ireland are from our trip. The plate is a gift from my outlaw. The sweet little Belleek pottery is from my girlfriend.(a remembrance of her parents) There is a rock which is a souvenir from when my cousins and their families went to see the family castle in Ireland a few years ago. The map has all the places our ancestors are from in the world. The one in the drawer below it has the European map.
