End of the Year Teacher Gift

As Spring arrives it is time to gather ideas of how to thank those who have spent the school year working with our children. Today I am sharing my favorite gift we have given to the staff and teacher of my sons. This gift lives on and on just like the impact teachers, aides, nurses, principals and office staff leave on our kids. In this tutorial you will learn how to make a tag to hang on a plant. The tag reads, "Thank you for helping me grow."

Not only am I sharing my favorite gift ideas made for the end of the year teacher gift but my friends are sharing their best ideas too. Join us all week as you have hit the jackpot for all your teacher gifts this year.

Many Thanks to Carolina, Angie and Jessica for hosting this celebration of ideas to honor all of our teachers.

Since succulents are a raging trend I chose an Aloe plant

Supplies

  Cricut Maker
  Cricut Design Space
  Cricut Green Cutting Mat
  Two colors of Cardstock
   Glue Pen (Zig)
   Scissors
   Ribbon
   Flower pot
   Plant
   Scrap fabric square

The link to my original design tag will make about 9 per 2 12×12 green mat. A suggestion from me is make a full sheet to build a stash. This will be the best use of materials while giving using the your time the best also. Follow instructions provided on my design page. I recommend using smaller patterned cardstock with the back solid a crisp contrast to the pattern. This is a personal choice although as I glued the gift tag together I was left wishing my top pattern was slightly smaller. What do you think? Please leave me a comment in the comments below.

Pot the plant place a square of stash fabric around the flower pot bringing up the fabric as a wrap. This may take a pair of extra hands. Tie ribbon around the pot and fabric to secure. Glue the two pieces of cardstock together paying close attention to adding back a few of the center letters if not all.

The finished gift can be made more masculine of feminine depending on your pattern choices. I hope you love it as much as we did making it and giving it to those special people who help our children grow. It really does take a village.
