A Woodland Glamour Christmas

Thursday, December 8, 2016

Our house this year is a woodland glamour Christmas fantasy land. Since I am sharing our lake house on this tour it seemed perfect to go a different direction than our home in Illinois. I had so much fun stretching my decorating style. The house is filled with teal, turquoise soft greens and white, Stars are blended in with Curly Willow branches made into trees, Faux fur and blankets with pillows galore to snuggle in for a long winters night. The Kitchen and dining area have touches of red with snowmen greeting you at the door. I will stop my chatter and invite you into my home. You many leave your shoes on or put them under the bench transformed from a bed.

Enjoy our Woodland Glamour Christmas Tour this is our entry please join us in our home.

Come along as we visit the dining and living rooms first. You will see the beauty of the sun as it sets. I call it chasing the light in the winter although as you can see the shadows create some pretty photographs. I have been know to buck the system of blog lighting and erasing all the shadows. To me the dance of the light is part of lifes beauty.

Welcome to our Christmas table where the sun dances shadows during our dinners each night.

Pinecones fill the space where the berry basket were once picked from the fields in our area.

Our farm table was found at an estate sale and the chairs are roadside collections.

Light greens dustes with white are covering the Antique Back Bar that found it's way here from Kansas City, Missouri
Flowers adjusted from summer to winter with greens, pine cones and gold glimmer to bring winter into this flower vase.

This time of day I am snuggling under a warm afghan watching the sunset in one of these two rooms. The porch is the best place to see the sunset. I think God paints the most gorgeous skies in the winter.
The second place to enjoy this holiday season is in the living room with a cozy fire.
Blankets ready to snuggle while watching sunset on the porch at the lake house.

Happy Holiday written across the television, candles, wooden stars washed in white with plaid turquoise.

A couch found with fabric torn from Ethan Allen is sprued up with Creams, turquoise and grays.

Our Fireplace is located in the middle of our dining and living room, Our home is named Dragonfly. Stars and Curly willow branches 6 garland with lots of candles soothe you from the cold.

Packages made of twigs wrapped with burlap ribbon topped a metal white star nugged up to the fire place.

Curly willow branches become an unconventional Christmas tree when it fell in the neighbors yard.

Mantle lighted with candles decorated with 5 different garland, wooden stars, and Luminaries in star shapes.

White washed stars with, evergreen, pinecones, Winter flannel plaid ribbon cut of frabic.

Jingle Bell lights teals, blues, white, glass jar and white crafted tree.

On to our room before the day is gone, Here is where I added a little glamour in the woods, Every girl needs her sparkle am I right ladies? To think Prince Charming said no ruffles when we were first married, After 32 years poor PC has been broken down.

Karen I don't know where to start, how about nice touch with the dragon fly! That white tree shape is amazing and vignette after vignette brings such beauty from old and new. The silver vase and collection of Christmas greenery is gorgeous. I love the little spots to snuggle up. Looks like an especially relaxing getaway for the holiday!

Everything is so lovely. I especially love the stars and the dragonflies. Christmas in every room! I really want pillows now. I did not know what to ask for for Christmas from my inlaws, but I think I am going for a sewing machine.

A second home, what a gorgeous retreat.

I noticed all the little dragonflies on the wreath, on the metal vase, and the sparkly candle holders.

Congratulations on your sons engagement.

I laughed when I saw your dog, he/she is certainly ready for the holidays. I am here, on the couch, when do the goodies get here. lol

You seem all set for a really Merry Christmas. Thanks for sharing. Leanna

Karen - Your lake house seems cozy and relaxing, and I am glad you left the play of light and shadows in the dining room. Cricket is too adorable; he seems to be very comfortable in front of the camera! That hutch is absolutely stunning - can't get over all the detail. And I also like the dragonflies over the mantle - very festive! Those pillows in the boys room are classics - great vintage feel! I hope your Christmas on the lake is very merry!!

Karen!!!! I Love your lake home. I just need to come over and watch a sunset with you. Your photos with the sunlight are perfect. I am glad you left them as is. There is something very magical about them. I love the woodland touches you used with your holiday decorating. The dragonflies are stunning. I have dragonflies in my holiday decor in honor of my dad. I also LOVE the pillows. Would you give Cricket a big hug for me? Thanks for having me over!
