Dual Pallet Sign

Monday, March 28, 2016

Welcome back Darlins' it has been a busy weekend. Today you are going to love, love, love this post. It is very inexpensive, covers two seasons and is darling. If I do say so myself? First, you resource(Dumpster Dive) or are given a pallet. I am a lucky lady because I have a friend who will give me pallets. Yippee! Remove the board from your pallet. You could make several dual pallet signs out of one pallet. I used a 5 Foot 2X4 for a stake or post for my sign. The cuts are included later for you to pin this project to your Pinterest board.
Pallet boards cut two 12" lengths and four 24" lengths for the dual pallet sign project

Sand with a power sander because pallet wood is strong wood. Using a sanding block is possible but you would be spending hours. Borrow or invest in a power sander for this project.
Pallet boards are painted with DecoArt Patio Paint on all sides aftre sanding
Since my plan is to use these signs outside I recommend outdoor paint on all sides of the pallet wood.
Spring Has Sprung with bed spring Berry red and Yellow gold outdoor paint and Golden retriever caught in the door.
I have been trying to use some old rusty bed springs when this project came to mind. I chose a golden yellow and berry red +DecoArt Painter Patio Paint. Blending the paint to create a bright rusty palette to go with the words (Spring Has Sprung) to compliment the spring. Oh my gosh! Something I saved for-ev-er..........finally found a new use in life for it. An original idea you can now pin on Pinterest and Please do! Photo Bombed by the Glamorous Cricket! LOL
Dual Pallet Sign Stars and Stripes red, white and blue outdoor paint, Chicago Brick
Now to the Flip side it seems only reasonable to keep the sign in use for as long as I can. I blended white, blue, black and berry red paint in this sign palette. Naturally the summer season follows spring so (Stars and Stripes) seems like the reasonable idea. When you create your own dual pallet signs use your own creative style. Have fun by adjusting the size, season, words, and decoration,

I used Hazel & Ruby reusable letters as masks and I also filled some of the letters in by hand. Stencils will work fine too. For this project, I did not want the crisp edges of a stencil for these two signs. You can see I added a ribbon to the bed spring because it is in the details. Our house is Chicago brick, white trim, and light gray siding. The mailbox, front door and door trim need some serious love. Please leave your ideas in the coment below. I bet you can guess a few projects on the summer schedule?
